Turkey day is approaching, which means it’s time to consider what you’re wearing to one of the biggest meals of the year. Selecting the perfect piece of jewelry and outfit can sometimes seem a bit daunting, but this year there are a few trends that will easily complement your fall wardrobe.
Thanksgiving gatherings beg for pieces in autumnal tones that lend a simple and elegant touch to your ensemble. While the weather is chilly in most cities during the season, layers can still be simple and elegant. For the most comfortable and relaxed look, leggings take the cake. Leggings are a huge trend right now and have been made fashionable no matter what the situation. Wear leggings with an over-sized sweater or blazer and pair with gold jewelry. Gold goes best with sweaters, especially gold earrings with a turtleneck because it makes your skin radiate, especially if there’s a warm fire blazing in the room!
If you’re trying to look good AND impress your in-laws at the same time go with a stylish dress or skirt and matching top. Sport a scarf and/OR auburn or dark orange earrings, necklaces and bracelets (like citrine and tiger eye) to make your outfit pop with color.
If you’re planning on going out to dinner or having a night of fun with a loved one or friends this Thanksgiving, we have the perfect outfit and jewelry recommendations for that too! Try wearing some high-waisted, black pants with a long sleeve polyester top. The white and black combo looks classy and sexy and pairs well with many types of jewelry. While you can wear any color of jewelry with this outfit, we like big gold plated earrings, like these. Try going with a black stone or enamel ring too! If you want something louder, an emerald pendant or ruby cocktail ring will be spot-on and add just the right amount of sparkle to your Thanksgiving garb.
The holiday is also the perfect opportunity to don family heirlooms. Those who don’t have decades-old baubles on hand can search for on-trend vintage-inspired pieces. Pendant pieces with a geometric pattern that incorporate both black and white diamonds are timeless and reminiscent.
Wearing jewelry is always ok during holidays, just be careful not to overdo it when picking the right jewels for Thanksgiving! Instead of piling on earrings, a necklace and several rings, select one or two key pieces that are unique but don’t distract from your overall appearance.
