Since we are an online jewelry store we love Instagraming pics of our jewelry worn by real people. Whether it’s the ladies at Ice or our customers sending in pictures, we love to show you how our jewelry looks in person.
One of our most popular pics on Instagram was this fabulous Green Chalcedony ring pictured with a front and side view to show all the wonderful detail with the Marcasite stones on the side.
With Instagram, we also love showing our customers how to wear certain pieces in a way they might not have thought of. Stacking bangles is playful and creates quite the statement, here’s one of our gold and black looks we adore. These can be worn alone, or mixed and matched.

Yesterday we unveiled the new look of Ice! Have you seen it yet? We were all in the festive mood in the Ice office yesterday. Employees dressed in our new brand colors; black, green and white. Of course all the ladies (and men) we’re sporting their favorite jewelry from Ice.
It was an exciting day to finally see the look of Ice transform from the original look that was created over 10 years ago to a brand new sleek and modern design. We are thrilled with how this makeover turned out! Isn’t it gorgeous?
As part of the celebration we took a break from our regular work schedule and gave a celebratory toast of bubbly with the entire company. The most delicious part of the day was when we got to dig into the chocolate cake and cupcakes. Yesterday also happened to be National Cupcake Day so we had to have some to celebrate – Made by yours truly ;)
What we all loved the most about yesterday was hearing from our customers. Since we’ve launched the new site we’ve been flooded with Facebook comments, Tweets, blog posts from some of our favorite bloggers. It’s an incredible feeling to see all the support from the community. Thank you all so much for your kind words. Keep the comments coming! We want to hear more about what you think of the new Ice.
While many women have likely stored their summer garments now that winter is here, ladies may want to think about keeping out jewelry that is usually worn in warm weather. Summer jewelry can still work in the colder months as long as you style it appropriately.
Turquoise pieces are fantastic at summertime cocktail parties, but they also look beautiful when paired with plush cashmere sweaters. The bold stones can hold their own against thick, chunky knits, but opt for garments in softer colors like taupe that won't contrast with the bright jewelry.
If you are heading out on a date, wear a delicate ankle bracelet. The piece looks elegant with a long dress and pumps, and it will be an unexpected flash if you end up hanging out barefoot by the fire.
In the winter, many women sport all-black ensembles. Coral jewelry will add a pop of color to a dark outfit, and the rich hue will hold its own against a black get-up.
Summer jewelry can be worn in the winter, but remember that it may be exposed to snow and sleet, so protect your pieces when you head outside.
Many women have second piercings in their ears. If you’re considering an additional piercing, here are the pros and cons.
1. A second hole is perfect for showcasing your diamond studs while still rocking chandelier earrings. For those women who like to pile on the jewels but still keep their look polished, a set of diamond studs are the perfect selection
2. If you have sensitive skin, reconsider, as the backs of earrings could be irritating. Not all women’s ears are the same – some may find that a second hole is uncomfortable. If you find the you’re constantly fiddling with your current earrings, rethink another piercing.
3. Another hole is a fun way to add a little edge to your look without being unprofessional. Second piercings are still suitable for the office as you can place small studs in for daytime wear. When you get ready to go out for the evening, switch them out for something a little more dramatic like colored gems or hoop earrings.
Rose gold has been a hot commodity in recent seasons, and the rich, on-trend metal is versatile and can be worn with many looks.
Those who favor a bohemian style can search for hammered rose gold hoop earrings and bangle bracelets.
If you prefer a more traditional approach, a rose gold watch is perfect for the office and small drop earrings will be flattering and professional.
Of course, it’s possible to choose classic pieces that will work with a variety of dressing styles. A rose-gold heart-shaped locket will pair well with a traditional blouse or soft sweater, while a chunky chain may be more appropriate for those who typically sport an edgier look.
Though it’s popularity has spiked recently, rose gold has never been out of style. A piece of rose gold jewelry is an investment that will be appreciated for years to come.
Hats are huge! Bill Cunningham of the NYTimes is quoted as saying “there’s no question that fedora hats, being worn by men and women, is THE trend of the summer.”
They’re all over Manhattan and certainly coming to a street vendor near you. I’m loving this trend, it’s so….well…democratic. Young and old, man and woman, artist and worker, everyone looks hip in a fedora.
For those of us of the feminine persuasion, it raises the question: what kind of jewelry do you pair with a hat that has traditionally been worn by men?
My answer? Classic pearl studs. They pull a little more femininity into the look without distracting from the tomboy chic. It’s all about balance.
One great deal is this set of three pearl studs in white, pink and black to suit any mood or outfit. So slip on some pearls, strap up some sandals, flop that fedora on your head, and step out looking ultra hip with one of the most versatile trends we’ve seen all year.
All of the major players in the world of jewelry were in Las Vegas from June 4 – 7 for North America’s largest annual jewelry show, JCK Las Vegas. This year’s events, which also included Swiss Watch by JCK and Luxury JCK, broke attendance records, with 20% more retailers than last year. And of course, ICE.com was there, staying on top of the latest trends, and making the deals that will guarantee our customers the finest, hottest jewelry available over the next year.
So what were people talking about? The price of gold, of course, is on everyone’s minds. As it continues to skyrocket, and the economy continues to weigh on the minds of many customers, the world’s jewelers have been busy finding creative ways to bring the public gorgeous new products that are available in every buyer’s price range. In many instances that means supplementing gold with other stunning metals. Everything from white tungsten, to steel to perennial favorite silver is being incorporated into the new designs.
That increasing use of white metals may explain the growing prevalence in black and white color schemes on everything from bracelets to necklaces to rings. And thanks to “Sex and the City 2,†black diamonds are making a huge comeback. Combining those two hot trends, we found several gorgeous examples of black and white diamonds combined in gorgeous pieces that will be available very shortly on ICE.com.
Stay tuned for more video interviews, photos and coverage of the JCK Las Vegas Show.
Nurses are an integral part of the health care system. They really keep it humming. My aunt Camille has been a nurse her whole career and now supervises teams of nurses. I recently asked her about what she and her co-workers wear for jewelry on the front lines of health care.
So, I bet that wearing scrubs all the time gets boring. How do nurses add sparkle to their work wear?
Well, not all nurses work on the floor or directly with patients. There are some nurses who don’t wear scrubs but the ones that do have a hard time adding a personal touch. Wearing protective gloves means that you really can’t wear big rings. Depending on the protocol at the workplace they might even require that nurses not wear rings at all. Our main goal is health and safety for everyone we care for – even ourselves! I think that earrings are probably the best way to add a unique touch.
When I started working in nursing almost 40 years ago we had to wear all white – you know the traditional nurses uniform. These days there are all kinds of patterns in scrubs and professional team wear that keep things from being too boring. I was recently in a pediatrician’s office and all the nurses there had on scrubs that the kids there loved.
Are there any trends in earrings that you’ve noticed on the nurses you work with? Diamond stud earrings have always been popular. I think that anything small and conservative is a good bet. Dangle or long tear drop earrings aren’t safe or suitable for the professional setting. You want to have earrings that are easy to keep clean.
What about down time? What about Friday night?!
Ha! Are you kidding?! Lot of nurses work 12 hour shifts and they’re pooped when the work is done. Just like lots of other women, they work hard for their families when they get home. On special occasions though, when they can have a night out, the nurses I work with love to be pampered. Something special like bold gem earrings – or a long necklace is a lot of fun. They want to wear something that is normally off limits at work.
I have to come clean. I can’t hide it any longer. I have a bad, bad case of Spring Fever! We’ve had a couple of 60 degree, sunny days and I am completely ready to bring out the sandals and shorts! I’m getting way ahead of myself because spring doesn’t really start for another week or so. In some parts of the country there’s still a ton of snow on the ground. Well, just because it’s not quite yet spring officially, doesn’t mean that you can be ready for the warmer weather when it comes to your neighborhood.
Year after year one of the hottest trends for spring is floral inspired looks. This is kind of a no-brainer since flowers are out everywhere at springtime. To be honest, I generally think floral jewelry is for two kinds of females – older women and young girls. However, let me be the first to say that I have been proven wrong (yet again) with this sophisticated and chic flower ring. First of all, it’s just $65. This is a great price for a seasonal piece of quality jewelry. Uniquely elegant, this delicately crafted ring combines contrasting tones of precious metal. That means you can wear it with white and yellow gold, platinum, or silver jewelry – very versatile! A graceful floral design is gorgeously rendered in sterling silver and yellow gold. It’s even kinda sexy!
You don’t even have to give a second thought to, “what earrings will I wear with this ring?” That’s because this ring comes has a matching pair of sterling silver and yellow gold floral earrings. Just like the ring, these striking earrings are unique and very stylish. Delicate floral two-tone silver and gold earrings are a gorgeous combination for any outfit.
Together the ring and earrings combine to create a perfect spring look.
Don’t get pinched this Saint Patrick’s Day; be sure you’re wearing some green! While an entire green outfit might make you look like a Christmas elf rather than a harbinger of spring, it’s easy to add just a touch of green with the right accessories.
You could really get into Saint Patrick’s Day with a clover design sterling silver pendant. Polished green agate and diamond accents in this pendant won’t pinch your wallet either at just $85.
When lots of folks think of green jewelry they think of emeralds. Emeralds have a beautiful, intense and radiant green. The green of the emerald is the color of life and of springtime. They’re definitely a great way to add green to any outfit this spring.
For a fresh and modern look this Saint Patrick’s Day, you could try a less traditional gemstone like green chrome diopside. Lush green tones sparkle gorgeously in this elegantly unusual diopside pendant. While perfect for springtime, this pendant’s bright green color will carry you right into sunny summer days. Honestly, it would even be a great choice for parties. It’s definitely a versatile piece for your jewelry collection.
