Military-inspired jewelry is hot this fall

A black diamond ring is perfect for the military look. This season, many of the designer duds heading down the runway feature bright jewel tones and crisp, military-inspired lines. In order to make accessorizing a snap, invest in a few simple jewelry pieces that will complement the fashions and pull your on-trend look together.

Search for pieces that are versatile, sleek and boast military-style shades and you'll be good to go for fall. Colors such as navy, green and beige are the paramount hues that define this look.

Emerald earrings will look fabulous when paired with a military jacket and dark denim jeans. Sapphire bracelets, necklaces and rings will certainly be in-vogue.

Another vital color for the military trend is black. Women who are showing off this army-inspired look are often seen wearing green or navy blue jackets and black aviator boots. For jewelry, a black diamond ring with a simple band will look lovely when paired with a structured blazer, classic pea coat or cropped jacket. Another great choice is black rhodium – look for bracelets made from this bold metal and wear them while out on the town.

The fall is a time to experiment with new trends. The military look is about functionality and subtlety, but a few simple jewelry pieces will make it pop.

So what were people talking about? The price of gold, of course, is on everyone’s minds. As it continues to skyrocket, and the economy continues to weigh on the minds of many customers, the world’s jewelers have been busy finding creative ways to bring the public gorgeous new products that are available in every buyer’s price range. In many instances that means supplementing gold with other stunning metals. Everything from white tungsten, to steel to perennial favorite silver is being incorporated into the new designs.

That increasing use of white metals may explain the growing prevalence in black and white color schemes on everything from bracelets to necklaces to rings. And thanks to “Sex and the City 2,” black diamonds are making a huge comeback. Combining those two hot trends, we found several gorgeous examples of black and white diamonds combined in gorgeous pieces that will be available very shortly on

Stay tuned for more video interviews, photos and coverage of the JCK Las Vegas Show.

Black jewelry is hot right now

A black diamond is forever too!A lot of girls think they need to be covered in white diamonds and pearls in order to stand out. But don’t underestimate the power of black jewels.

For starters, pearls can be black, too! These stones come from the black pearl oyster. Their dark hue offer a nice change of pace for girls who usually favor their white counterparts.

Black diamonds are also wonderful pieces of jewelry. These stones make fantastic additions to an elegant black outfit.

Finally, black onyx is simply irresistible, since it can complement any clothing choice, whether it’s day or night.

On the Street: Black and White

Black and White is a classic combination
Black and White is a classic combination
This week in our effort to bring you jewelry styles and trends we’ve spotted On the Street, we caught a few young ladies who were enjoying a night out on the town in style. The friend in the middle stepped out wearing the classic combination of black and white. This sophisticated combo is great for a formal event but can also be a good choice for trendy settings.

A great pairing for a black and white ensemble is a pearl necklace. Pearls make your outfit look more formal and are a great choice for the workplace. To mix it up a bit you can select a necklace with both black and white pearls like the lady pictured here. This is a great “going out” look and looks great with your little black dress. A third option is black and white diamonds. Those sparklers would really get you some attention!

No matter what jewelry you choose, the black and white combination is a classic that you’ll be able to wear year after year. The versatility of black and white jewelry make it a “must have” for any jewelry collection.
