Twilight: Breaking Dawn Sparkly Ladies

The Twilight Saga, either you love it or you hate. There’s been much hype over the movie, as with all of them and Twi-hards are eagerly awaiting the premiere this Friday. Earlier this week, the Hollywood premiere of the movie was held and the stars of the movie looked amazing on the red black carpet.

There was sequins and sparkly embellishments on many of the women in the cast. Kristen Stewart aka Bella Swan, looked mature in her long purple J. Mendel gown with a thigh high split. All the ladies in the Cullen clan where dressed to impress wearing long gowns. Ashley Greene pulled off the vamp-look with a stunning red Donna Karen dress with matching lips and nails. She opted for a black & gold ring that broke up the all-red ensemble.

One of my favorite looks of the night was by Nikki Reed (pictured right). She wore a Grecian Marchesa gown in a fabulous minty green accented with gold sequins. I loved her long drop earrings featuring an array of earth-tone colored gemstones.

Are you planning on seeing the new Twilight movie?

Colored Diamond Stud Earrings

I rarely go a day without wearing my studs. They’re the perfect go-to accessory for any outfit, whether you’re going to work, the gym, night out or even walking down the aisle. As your favorite jewelry blogger, I feel it’s my duty to introduce you to a world of new sparkly studs. When we think of studs it’s normally classic white diamond (or cubic zirconia) that first come to mind but have you seen colored diamond studs?

If you ever wished to add a dash of color to your regular studs and keep the luxury of diamonds I highly recommend choosing a pair of colored diamond studs. I’ve told you about black diamonds, pink diamonds and blue diamonds but we just got a few new more colors of the diamond rainbow. Check out our latest green diamond studs that would look great on green or hazel eyed beauties. These red diamond studs are a deep red color that will blend in with your Fall wardrobe nicely. Lastly, these yellow diamond studs will glow brilliantly all year round in any season. These three new diamond studs are all 1/2 total diamond weight so they are a perfect for a light splash of color to put in your second (or third, etc) piercing if you’re wearing a larger earring in your primary piercing.

Celleste’s Vintage Glam Selections

Last month we announced our exciting partnership with singer/songwriter Celleste. Her music is featured in many of our product videos on Ice and now we’re thrilled to launch Celleste’s selection of Vintage Glam Jewelry.

Celleste chose her favorite jewelry pieces from Ice and I had a chance to chat with her about her selections.

Laura: What was the inspiration behind the pieces of jewelry in your collection?

Celleste: I chose these particular pieces because they represent me the best. I like vintage and natural looking jewelry in an array of colors set in leather and metal, but at the same time having a glamorous accent. I also like pieces which are more sophisticated, chic and feminine, as long as they have some sort of edge.

L: How would you describe your personal style?

C: I always mix vintage and modern just like my music which I like to call “Modern Classic Rock”. I really like a combination of fresh, new looks, but always with an old-school feeling.

L: We love the vintage look of some of the pieces you chose – how do you combine these pieces with a modern outfit?

C: You just dare to do it. Most of the pieces I picked can be worn with casual clothes like jeans or dressier outfits just the same. I think it’s not about what you wear the pieces with but how you wear them. Be confident and feel good about yourself, and I promise anything will work!

L: Being a performer, what kind of jewelry do you usually wear on stage?

C: On stage I go for more basic and light pieces since I’m very energetic. I’ve learned the hard way that jewelry can injure. Not the most practical thing when you’re jumping up and down. ; ) So I usually go more for bracelets like cuffs. I’m so used to wearing a few of them on each arm that I feel naked on stage if I don’t have them on. As for earrings, they have to be delicate and light, so I always wear studs.

L: Is there a piece from the collection that you would wear every day?

C: Absolutely! The first thing on my list would be the crystal smiley face leather bracelet. That bracelet was screaming my name. It’s totally ME! And it’s comfortable enough for me to have on all the time, on and off stage.

Smiley Bracelet, Flower Cuff, Black Diamond Studs

L: Which are your favorite pieces from this collection?

C: That’s a really tough one! I LOVE everything I chose, but I absolutely ADORE the smiley collection, especially the bracelet… I fell in love with it the second I saw it! It has a rock feel due to the leather, but still remains feminine. The whole collection is so cute and just makes me smile . Plus, all the pieces are very wearable both on and off stage.

Smokey Quartz ring (pictured right) – This ring really feels like an antique, I find it has lots of character, and really makes a statement. I love the craftsmanship and design, and especially the dark color. This is great when I don’t want too much glitter but still want to feel like a rock star.  : )

Stainless Steel Flower bracelet –  Daisies have always been my favorite flower, so I had to have this bracelet in the collection! This piece is just plain fun. It’s bright, colorful and has a great feel… can you say “groovy baby”?  : )

Black diamond studs – When it comes to earrings, I tend to keep it really simple. These studs are perfect for me – clean and straight to the point. I love the fact that black goes with everything, whether chic or casual. Like the Smokey ring, when I don’t feel like shining, these make a subtle and classy statement. And let’s not forget ladies, they’re still diamonds.

Wooden Rings

If ever you’re looking for a bold statement piece that’s different from the traditional silver and gold metal jewelry – I’ve got an idea for you. Wooden rings! Yup, you read correctly. Typically when you think of jewelry, wood doesn’t come to mind but two of our newest rings at Ice will make you a believer in trying out this alternative look.

The first wood ring I want to tell you about features green diopside, white crystals and a stunning ruby in the center of the ring. Each of the gems is held securely in place with shiny 14K yellow gold. This dark wood band (pictured right) is a large piece yet very comfortable to wear all day.

Another wood ring at Ice is an oval shape, flat top ring featuring Citrine stones and white crystals set in sterling silver. This ring has a much more contemporary feel to it. Oh and don’t be afraid of splinters, these wooden rings are very smooth.

What do you think of these wood rings – would you wear them?

Citrine – 5 Facts About November’s Birthstone

Everywhere you look in the month of November you are likely to be surrounded by colorful leafs falling to the ground. The yellow, orange and reds covering the ground give me a warm feeling. November’s birthstone Citrine does a marvelous job at capturing that warm Fall feeling. Here’s a few things you might not have known about November’s birthstone.

Yellow Quartz: Citrine is a yellow Quartz ranging in color from a pale-yellow to brown. Lovers of canary diamonds might find a new love in Citrine since they are similar in color.

Optimism: If you’re feeling down or uninspired apparently you should put on some Citrine. It is believed this gemstone promotes creativity, helps with your personal clarity and also eliminate self-destructive tendencies. I’ll keep this in mind next time I’m in need of a little motivation.

Protection: In ancient times, Citrine was worn to protect against the plague, snake venom and evil thoughts. Yikes! Glad those are the least of our problems these days. ; )

Lucky 13: If you’re looking for an anniversary gift after thirteen years of marriage, Citrine is the official gemstone for this celebration. I’m sure all the wives out there would not complain by receiving any jewelry after so many years of marriage.

Alternative Birthstone: Yellow or Gold Topaz is also November’s birthstone. Citrine is often confused with this stone but don’t be fooled, the Topaz alternative is much more expensive than Citrine. This is why Citrine is more commonly known as November’s primary birthstone. Topaz comes in a variety of colors however yellow is reserved for November and Blue Topaz is December’s birthstone.

Do you like the look of Citrine? All month long you can save on these Citrine jewelry pieces. View our entire collection of Citrine jewelry.

Weekly RoundUp: Halloween & Fan of the Week

What a fun week! All of us in the Ice office have been on a sugar high since Halloween and loving every minute of it. In this week’s roundup I’ll tell you all about Halloween, the jewelry our fans are raving about and our new fan of the week.

Halloween

I love Halloween so I was super excited to help organize the festivities in the office. We decorated the office with fun and somewhat gruesome props. I was thrilled to see my co-workers dress up for the day. Some of the awesome costumes were the lovely Kate Middleton including a homemade fascinator which I adored. Cleopatra was dazzling. A creepy crypt crawler. I was dressed as a 1920’s flapper girl. Loved dressing up in all the jewelry and feathers.

We asked our Facebook fans to post pictures of their Halloween costumes and we got some adorable pics of their children and some sexy pin-up girls. One of the most unique costumes we saw this Halloween was posted on our Facebook page. Stick people!!!!  LOVE this.

Stick person costume!! How cool is this??

What did you dress up as for Halloween? We’d love to see pics.

What’s Your Style?

In last week’s What’s Your Style I made a selection of Halloween themed jewelry and asked our Facebook & Twitter community to tell us which one would they wear to get them in the Halloween mood. The top 3 pieces that got the most votes from our online community were:

1. Devil heart pendant with diamonds

2. Snake bracelet

3. Spider earrings with black & white diamonds (pictured right)

Spotted: Bold Crystal Jewelry on Gossip Girl

I have no shame in admitting I’m a sucker for watching Gossip Girl. It’s dramatic, funny, sexy and fashionable. Every character on the show has a top-notch wardrobe full of high-end designers. It’s incredibly fun to see what new outfits will appear in every scene. Main characters Serena and Blaire are the focus of the show played by Black Lively and Leighton Meester but Serena’s mother Lily often steals the spotlight with her classy yet sexy fashion sense. I recently came across this photo of the stars on the set of the show and couldn’t help but drool when I saw Lily’s necklace.

On the set of Gossip Girl
Kelly Rutherford wearing a gorgeous clear crystal necklace

Lily is played by Kelly Rutherford who I find has a very similar style on and off screen. Her necklace is draped with large clear crystals that kind of look like rocks. If you want to get a similar look, Ice has a very similar style crystal bracelet (pictured right) from our SNO of Sweden Collection.  It’s a large statement piece that will go with many outfits since the crystal chips are clear.

Would you wear large clear statement pieces like these?

Black Swarovski Bracelets

When I got a sneak peak of this black Swarovski crystal bracelet a couple of months ago I knew I had to have it. I anxiously waited for it to come in stock and now the time has come! I recently started adding several black bracelets to my expanding jewelry collection. It started with a black crystal bracelet from Ice, then I got the black glass bead SNO of Sweden bracelet.

I noticed several of Hollywood’s starlets donning black bracelets such as the lovely Amanda Seyfried so I must be on to something. This new bracelet is another black glass bead bracelet but this one has a cluster of white Swarovski crystals. It is SPARKLY! As is the other black bracelets I recently got.

What do you think of black jewelry? Do you have any?

Btw, if you’re not crazy about black jewelry, the Swarovski crystal bracelet I mentioned above is also available with purple glass beads.

Fashionable Halloween Costumes

So here’s the dilemma. Ice is having a Halloween party on Monday and I don’t have a costume! I need your help coming up with ideas. I’d love to keep it fashion focused or related to celebrities and pop culture. No Snooki suggestions please LOL.

Here are some fashionable costume ideas:

Kate Middleton including her famous sapphire engagement ring which we have at Ice. My lovely co-worker Tammy will be rocking this look on Monday, fascinator and all. Can’t wait to see it! (FYI, fascinators are those crazy hats the Brits wear at weddings)

Flapper Girl: 1920’s style bad girl adorned in long pearl necklaces, short hair, black stockings  & lots of feathers. This would be a fun idea and is the one that I’m seriously considering.

Marilyn Monroe: I do have an old pink bridesmaid dress I can wear with tons of Ice diamond jewelry to resemble the blond bombshell’s look in the movie Gentleman Prefer Blondes.

Kardashian Sisters: Slap on some animal print, super high heels, bronzer, large earrings and you can be any one of the K sisters.

What do you think of these costume ideas? Can you help me come up with something else?

Post your suggestions in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter.
