Just as the media has finally died down on the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton another wedding occurs for the Royal family. This time the nuptials were for Prince Albert and the newly appointed Princess of Monaco, Charlene Wittstock who got married this past weekend.
Like the other Royal Wedding we couldn’t help but get excited to see the dress and the jewels. But wow were we ever disappointed when we saw bare ears, neck and wrists on the bride. Ok yes she did have over 40,000 Swarovski crystals on her Armani wedding gown and a gorgeous hair barrette but still…we want to see jewels!
So we thought it would be fun to see what you can come up with. Searching Ice.com which jewelry pieces would you accessorize the Princess bride with? Choose some earrings, bracelets and pendants.
Ice.com recently launched the Eclipse Jewelry Collection and our customers have been getting really excited about it. Each piece of the collection features an elegant duo of black and white diamonds. This rich collection was inspired by the solar and lunar eclipse when the Moon casts a shadow over Earth…..ok and maybe a little inspiration from the Twilight movie Eclipse. ;)

We’ve spotted actress Katie Holmes several times wearing an adorable initial pendant. The one she was adorning was not a “K” but an “S” for her little princess Suri.
We have initial pendants similar to Katie’s at Ice.com accented with diamonds. Most often we hear of our customers buying them for themselves or friends/family. We absolutely love the idea of getting the pendant of your children’s initials. It’s so thoughtful and something that can be passed down to them later on when they start wearing more jewelry.
We shouldn’t complain about the heat in the warm summer months but sometimes we just can’t help it but whine over the boiling hot temperatures. The best we can do is wear tank tops and shorts to avoid over-heating with clothes but what about your accessories? You still want to look fashionable but avoid heavy metals that will attract the heat.
Ice.com recently added a fabulous collection of beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings that will fit perfectly with your summer wardrobe. These pieces are available in shimmery summer gemstones such as Rose Quartz, Aquamarine and Pearls. They make the perfect summer accessory not only because they look beautiful but they are lightweight making them super comfortable for those hot sticky days.
Jewelry is normally filled with beautiful diamonds and colorful gemstones but every so often someone has an idea for something quirky to get some attention. As a child I remember loving those plastic slap-on bracelets, kids these days are obsessed with Silly Bandz and now the newest odd addition to these child-like accessories are Braced-lets.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people on Twitter and the blogosphere talking about these bracelets that are the brainchild of two Orthodontists and a jewelry designer. They are colorful rubber bands with little metal brackets that look like braces. Most children hate wearing braces so maybe these will make them feel less self-conscience about them. But some blogs report that adults are wearing these.
What do you think? Would you wear these bracelets that resemble braces?
For those of you who are die-hard fans (ME!!) of the HBO series True Blood you are well aware that the new season starts this Sunday. If you haven’t heard of the vampire/werewolf/shape shifter show, get on it, it blows away any of the teen themed vamp shows.
Last night was the Hollywood premiere of the 4th season where all the show’s stars hit the red carpet. One thing I noticed about the women in the cast was they all rocked out edgy looks that fit the theme of the show perfectly. The red carpet was full of red lips, black lace, leather and studs. If you ask me, they all looked hot! (Especially the men, I think this is the best looking cast of men on any show right now, do you agree?)
Of course I’m always paying close attention to the jewelry the stars are wearing but it wasn’t hard to notice all the huge statement rings and lots black jewelry. The show’s star Anna Paquin wore a large right hand ring paired with a spiky bracelet and a few bangles that suited her black see-through mini dress perfectly.
Will you be having a True Blood party to celebrate the premiere? Dress up with your friends for the occasion in your favorite rubies, black jewelry and silver…to ward off the vamps ;) Don’t forget the red lipstick, dark nails and killer heels – let Pam’s sexy character be your inspiration.
It’s a few months before Labor Day so now’s the time to deck out in your favorite all white outfit. We wanted to share our favorite tips for accessorizing a cute white summer dress. With such a plain canvas it can be tricky deciding what to pair with white. Here’s our favorite accessorizing tips.
1. Get tanned…without the sun: One of the summer’s best accessories for the summer is a nice tan. For those of us who didn’t have the luxury of sitting in the sun (protected with sunscreen of course) you can fake the look with accessories.
Pair your white summer dress with a tan colored belt, matching tan shoes and gold accessories like a great bangle, gold hoop earrings or Amber jewelry. The sight of white with light brown screams summer. Try it!
2. Bold Colors. You’re wearing a white canvas, do not be afraid to splash on bright bold jewelry such as:
Blue Topaz and Turquoise are the preferred summer shades of blue, pair it with bright turquoise colored pumps.
Ruby red jewelry against crisp white adds a sexy twist to the simple white look. Don’t forget to add some bright red lipstick and nail polish to complete the look
3. Black & White, a match made in heaven. The classic look never fails to disappoint. Black diamonds are gorgeous and are great for both day and night outings. Don’t let the color fool you, these diamonds sparkle! You can also add a black belt or headband to include more black.
A fun twist to the black and white look is to pair it with bright colored pumps. Purple, blue, red, whatever you have.
* Style Tip! We know you may have a couple of weddings to attend this summer but please skip out on wearing a white dress to it. Brides hate when guests wear white to weddings!
Twilight star Nikki Reed shocked many American Idol fans when she announced she was dating one of this year’s contestants (and my personal favorite) Ryan McDonald. Now just a few months after dating, they’re engaged!
They look like a genuinely happy couple (as you can see all smiley at the MTV Movie Awards). The ring has been spotted and it’s not the look of a typical engagement ring but we love unconventional rings. The ring showcases five round cut diamonds similar to this ring.
Their first time meeting was actually caught on camera from the red carpet of a movie premiere so we definitely look forward to seeing more of the couple. We really wish them all the best.
